NEW RELEASE REVIEW ~BANE BY LJ SHEN~

Title: Bane
Author: L.J Shen
Release Date: May 6, 2018
Series: Sinners of Saint #4, a standalone
MY RATING: 5 STARS
Bane

Naked surfer. Habitual pothead. A con, a liar, a thief and a fraud.

Last I heard, he was extorting the rich and screwing their wives for a living.

Which is why I’m more than a little surprised to find him at my threshold, looking for my friendship, my services, and most puzzling of all—looking humbled.

Thing is, I’m on a boycott. Literally—I cut boys from my life. Permanently.

Problem is, Bane is not a boy, he is all man, and I’m falling, crashing, drowning in his sweet, perfect lies.

Jesse Carter

Hot as hell, cold as ice.

I wasn’t aware of her existence until a fat, juicy deal landed in my lap.

She’s a part of it, a little plaything to kill some time.

She is collateral, a means to an end, and a side-bonus for striking a deal with her oil tycoon stepdad.

More than anything, Jesse Carter is a tough nut to crack.

Little does she know, I have the fucking teeth for it.

This book had me all sorts of confused, and I loved it! Bane is a ruthless man. Jesse is a ruined girl. Together they should be the worst for each other, but oh how the mighty fall, and the tortured rise. The ping-pong between these two of heated tension, garnering strength, and positively scorching attraction kept my mind clearly in their world trough every single word. This book, these characters, demanded my attention. And not only that, but they deserved it as well, and they got it. I was so entranced by this book I felt bereft when it was over and I just wanted more Bane and Jesse.

But holy moly, can I tell you what a tumultuous and crazy book this is? Just when I thought I had a handle on it, nope. No, I surely did not. There were so many intricate details, and hints that were weaved through the big, loud emotional moments. It was almost like read a symphony. The range of  things Bane and Jesse experienced both together and separately were almost too much at times.

I can't say enough about this book. But it's not for the lighthearted. It's dark, it's intense, and at times weighed very heavily on my heart due to the subject matter, but then Bane would come storming in demanding attention and the weight would ease into his obsession for Jesse that just struck my awe chord over and over again. This book is a winner for sure. And if you're thinking of skipping it, you're making a huge mistake!

Happy Reading!

L.J. Shen is an International #1 best-selling author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She lives in Northern California with her husband, young son and chubby cat.

Before she’d settled down, L.J. (who thinks referring to herself in the third person is really silly, by the way) traveled the world, and collected friends from all across the globe. Friends who’d be happy to report that she is a rubbish companion, always forgets peoples’ birthdays and never sends Christmas cards.

She enjoys the simple things in life, like spending time with her family and friends, reading, HBO, Netflix and internet-stalking Stephen James. She reads between three to five books a week and firmly believes Crocs shoes and mullets should be outlawed.
